5th Career Entrepreneur Says a Degree Doesn’t Have to Dictate Your Path

May 6, 2021 | Entrepreneurs, Positively West Virginia

Recent Positively West Virginia guest, Dick Bonnet, is on his fifth long-term career. Dick is a leading representative for TorcUP wrenches. Each job he has had has been different from the last, but this one is a real challenge. Since 1996, TorcUP has grown to become the Industries Most Trusted Hydraulic and Pneumatic Torque Wrench Supplier consisting of industrial torque tools that are made in the USA that meet the critical bolting requirements of customers around the world.

In his lifetime, Dick has worked in many different industries, all with their own challenges, but points out that the commission-based nature of TorcUP is a whole new dynamic. During the podcast interview, he said, “You have to be self-motivated and find your way.”

A typical day for Dick includes finding new leads where you might not think to look, demonstrating the products and gaining new clients. So when Dick shows people the power of TorcUP tools, it’s hard to say no. Threaded fasteners are used in machinery, plant technology, and nearly every structure or machine that is used to produce something. If you can’t do it by hand, you need TorcUP.

Dick’s job is made even easier by working for a supportive company. TorcUp knows that they are selling to great, hard-working people, so they try to give the best quality service. So when there is a problem, Dick knows that he will be supported in finding a solution and moving forward stronger.
