Show notes:

Normally each week, on this podcast, we interview West Virginia business leaders and share their success stories.
For the next few days – who knows how long that will be – we’re going to bring you daily special edition broadcasts specifically and intentionally around this basic question:  What can West Virginia businesses do – right now – to survive this current COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic situation we’re all facing today?
When we first started this podcast project in 2017, we wanted to inspire people and equip people in West Virginia with examples of real-life entrepreneurs and businesses who built businesses in West Virginia.
So, this new urgent situation that we all find ourselves in –  falls right in line with our mission of Positively West Virginia.
Every weekday, we will be bringing you these business briefings to help business owners and business leaders – especially small businesses – practical ideas to use today.  Right now.

Since mid-March, Senator Capito has hosted seven constituent teletownhalls on the coronavirus. In less than a month, she’s held constituent teletownhalls with constituents in more than half of the state (26 counties). In addition to these teletownhalls, Senator Capito has been keeping in close contact with other WV small businesses, hospitals, medical professionals, community leaders, economic development professionals, manufacturers, folks from the energy industry, etc.

She’s also been in touch with the administration quite a bit—including the Vice President who is leading the COVID-19 Task Force—where she’s been conveying to them WV needs during this time. She launched a resources COVID-19 page for constituents to seek more information and details on everything ranging from testing sites to small business relief/loan applications. Here’s the website: https://www.capito.senate.gov/coronavirus. Additionally, she’s done frequent live Q&A’s where she’s answered specific constituent questions on the CARES Act and how the federal government can help.
