With any company, it isn’t good if employees aren’t being placed correctly based on their skill set, aren’t being trained properly or feel that they aren’t receiving human resources benefits.

Align HR, located in Bridgeport, West Virginia, was founded on the desire to take human resources to the next level. After many years of success in the human resources industry, they believe that managed HR services enable them to provide their clients with more than traditional HR practices can offer.

Zac Abraham, co-founder of Align HR, was a guest on The Positively West Virginia Podcast where he gave host, Jim Matuga, three pieces of advice for any budding entrepreneur or business owner.

Develop a company culture.

Developing the kind of company culture that turns your employees into brand ambassadors is something every company, big or small, should be chasing after. Your Human Resources Benefitsemployees should be your biggest fans.

This not only makes the customer service experience amazing, but it also makes those customers truly believe that your product or service is the best.

To create a powerful company culture, first think about your core values. Is it constant collaboration? A work hard, play hard mentality? Whatever your core values
may be, capitalize on them, and promote the people who do so as well.

Second, communicate with your employees. This is the number one rule. If you’re not communicating, company culture can go down the drain because your employees may feel that you’re keeping secrets from them.

Finally, find people that compliment your business, and invite them to drink your kool-aid. As mentioned above, employees that are your biggest fans can do wonders to your revenue.

You are the company you keep.

“For example, I didn’t get into this business (HR) to do invoices. We partner with a third-party company that takes care of all of that stuff,” Abraham explained. “I think surrounding yourself with partners, with good individuals or business that you support is important.”

If the people around you aren’t being positive or they’re dragging you down or aren’t being honest, get rid of them, whether it’s an employee or friend. It’s not worth it.

Over a period of time, this type of behavior can be easy to simulate, and you may find yourself doing it.

Make sure whatever it is you do, you’re passionate about it.

As the old saying goes, “If you’re having fun, it’s not work.”

“Whatever you do, make sure you are passionate about it,” Abraham said. “Something that you will never get tired of doing. It’s one of those things where you wake up and you’re excited about what the future looks like.”

If you are passionate about what you do, are smart about treating it like a business and not a hobby, success will come to you.
