Alex Reneman is the CEO and Owner of Mountain Leverage, a software company, located in Grafton, West Virginia – in Taylor County. Reneman is an entrepreneur, a veteran, a community leader, a husband and a father.
Reneman is a lifelong West Virginian, having grown up in Grafton and eventually returning to start and operate Mountain Leverage. After starting and running a handful of local businesses, Reneman was given sage advice by an older local gentleman; “ Son, if you want to help your community, you need to let the rest of this go and focus on Mountain Leverage.”
Reneman followed that advice, and now, 15 years later, Mountain Leverage has grown to serve international markets and customers ranging from Fortune 50 to family-owned operations. The growth of the company has allowed Reneman to diversify his interests, help his local community and beyond.
Reneman was a guest on The Positively West Virginia Podcast. He talked with podcast host, Jim Matuga, about his successful business in Grafton.
What is your 30-second pitch?
“We help organizations optimize their operations to be able to go up against the market pressure,” said Reneman. “We find edge technology or process change to do a cheaper, faster and more accurate job.”
What is the geographic area you serve?
“They are all over the United States, but we are trying to grow in West Virginia right now,” said Reneman. “We also have a location in the United Kingdom, so we have customers internationally as well.”
Where did you serve in the Military?
“I was in the Army National Guard; we were deployed to Iraq in 2003 and 2004,” said Reneman.
What is the vision for your company long-term?
“We hope that what we do on a day in, day out basis elevates our own station in life along with those around us and we are striving for peak performance. We want to grow, but we do not want to grow for growth’s sake. We want to grow because we think what we have here is a good thing, and we will offer it to as many people as we can,” said Reneman.
