Cutright Law specializes in contract law, as well as property and oil and gas law. Andrew is married to Cris Cutright and has a 3-year-old son named Finn.

Cutright was a guest on The Positively West Virginia Podcast. He talked with podcast host, Jim Matuga, about his successful business and his advice to young entrepreneurs.

What is your 30-second pitch for Cutright Law?

“We are a contract and property attorney law firm. We handles business transactions, so we do not consider ourselves a plaintiff law firm or a defense law firm. Our team loves to engage with businesses in West Virginia. The other arm of our business is property-related, particularly oil and gas law. It is something that I have always talked about,” said Andrew.

What is it like working with your dad?

“It is fantastic. When we first started Cutright Law, we had to have a conversation about the hat analogy. We said that on some days, we are going to have our father-son hats on and, on other days, we have to be clear that the next conversation we may have on a senior attorney and a junior attorney hat. Sometimes, we also have to have pure attorney hats. I will not lie to you, it gets confusing at times, but it is a blessing to work with my dad,” said Andrew.

What would you say is the number one thing you are most excited about for Cutright Law?

“About five months ago, we moved into our new location in the Suncrest Towne Center. We have bounded around the last ten years and we finally found this spot in the Suncrest Towne Center that is right above the PNC Bank. The location is amazing, it is beautiful and it can handle whatever we need to do. Due to the connection with the Business Network International Chapter that we are apart of, we get to deal with a lot of businesses. I love to work with business owners that are serious about their businesses,” said Andrew.

What is your long term vision for Cutright Law?

“Growing in size right now is not something that I am interested in because I love the size and intimacy that we have with the staff. I think the long term vision for Cutright Law is the name and the reputation that we would have in the state. It goes down to the branches, one being the business avenue. I want people to understand how serious we take our client transactions. The other branch would be the oil and gas knowledge that we have in the state of West Virginia,” said Andrew.
