Recent Positively West Virginia guest, Phil Mauser, graduated from college with a chemistry and biology degree. However, his original idea of pursuing dental school was quickly derailed by his passion for working with the community in the family business.

Daniel’s is a men’s clothing store in Morgantown, West Virginia. This store has been around, serving the fashion needs of local men for 58 years now, and continues to provide lasting quality and service to anyone who comes through the doors. Phil started his path at Daniel’s with a part-time position that quickly became his opportunity to become a business owner.

Before owning Daniel’s, Phil was planning to pursue a career in dentistry. In his brief time in the corporate world, he said he felt like “a caged animal” when working a desk job. Now he is thriving by interacting and serving the customers who come to Daniel’s in search of high fashion and fine clothing.

Typically Daniel’s has a hectic spring and summer business season due to all the graduations and weddings. However, recently, the business has struggled to keep up without the demand of in-person events. Instead of seeing this as an obstacle, Phil took this opportunity to spend more time with his family, and his employees did the same. Phil kept the business alive throughout the pandemic by providing and distributing masks all over the area to those who needed them. They were able to make a bit of money to keep the employees on board.

Now the industry is seeing a steady rise in people who are ready to get out there and dress up for the event again. Graduations, events and weddings are all getting scheduled, and Daniel’s is prepared to outfit people for any occasion or need that walks through the door.

Phil, an optimist, is ready to start seeing his customers feeling confident and excited to go to events in style again. While he knows that this year has been challenging on people, he also knows that feeling good and working with his community is right around the corner, and he can’t wait to dress you for the occasion.
