Recent Positively West Virginia guest Caitlin Furbee has created her own market for windows and blinds through understanding the needs and demands of the area.

Caitlin Furbee, a WVU graduate, now owns her own company, Remarkable Windows and Blinds, located in Morgantown, WV. After graduating with an interior design degree, Caitlin found that she could mix her background of design with the local need for window and blinds options. She uses both of these assets to run her dream business of working with people to create a home that works for them.

Caitlin’s work focuses on the client’s taste, of course, but she also looks into the functionality of a space. When she helps her clients move forward with design, she asks questions that will make the area something that the family can work with efficiently. Caitlin said, “I’m here just to be as helpful as possible.”

Her business gets rid of the stress that comes with overwhelming choices people face when modifying their homes. Often, Caitlin mentioned, people don’t really know what style correlates with their taste, so it can be challenging to do it alone. With Caitlin’s help, you can design a space that caters to what you want, what you need and what will last.

She continues growing her business through personal referrals and word of mouth. But, for Caitlin, the client relationship is the most important thing. She loves working with people and knows that a home is unique and should be a place that looks good and feels suitable for the people living in it.

Business mishaps for Caitlin are rare and usually minor. Sometimes things get shipped to the wrong address, or warehouse mishaps cause disappointment, but significant issues are pretty rare. Through the pandemic, Caitlin maintained business by asking simple favors from clients like taking their own measurements and sending pictures. She now hopes to use these modern methods to expand her services to other states.

The best part of this job is definitely her client relationships, but lately, Caitlin has enjoyed working with interns. She said, “My day starts and revolves around my people because they mean the most to me.” For her, the job is about teaching and helping people fall in love with their homes all over again.
